Submission Guidelines for Almost An Author (A3)

Thank you for your interest in posting on Almost An Author (A3). Please read the following guidelines:

• Length should be between 500 to 2000 words.
• You must be willing to grant first usage and one-time rights to A3.
• Double check spelling, grammar.
  • We will not be editing your post if it is accepted.
• Provide your bio within 2 or 3 sentences.
  • You may include one link to your blog and optionally to your Twitter or Facebook account.
• Posts need be directly related to writing instruction or the business of writing.
  • Please review our columns for ideas.
• Provide a creative commons image that helps to emphasize the content of your post.
  • Image needs to be 570 px wide.
  • Please provide link to original photo.
  • If it is your image, please add this phrase to your submission.
    • “I give Almost An Author rights to use my image.”
  • Please be aware, pictures may be changed by our editors for any reason.
• Guest posts writers are asked to reply to their comments for two weeks after their post is published.
• If your post is accepted you will be asked to post a lead-in post on your own personal blog, and share the link on various social media.
  • Lead in will need to say, “I guest posted on Almost An Author today. (and include link back to your post)”
  • You can say more but it needs to be the first paragraph or sentence of your post.
• No financial compensation is offered for your post, but you may attain elite status with A3.
  • After 3 accepted posts, you will receive a A3 button for your blog or website. You may be given the opportunity to write a regular monthly column.
  • After 5 accepted posts, you will be listed on our author’s page. Your headshot will be given a bronze border.
  • Awards will be given
