I wrote this totally CUTE board book featuring CUTE dinosaurs, and it has the CUTEST art ever.
During the pandemic. My launch was outside in March, wearing a mask.

Cute vs Worldwide shutdown – who will be the winner?
At present, it is languishing on a back list – the publisher is not taking it to many shows. We have all moved on to the next big thing.
Except in the last month, I had a chance to read it to a ZOOM group and mention it to some folks on a cruise. I got 8 sales out of that. And they said it was CUTE!
I am considering a “relaunch” of How to Dress a Dinosaur.
Most relaunches include a new edition or added information, and a new cover. I just want to pretend it is not a 2022 copyright!
What I have tried so far
Reviews
I have a Kirkus Review!
68 Amazon reviews
116 Goodreads reviews
If I offer a drawing or giveaway on my Substack page or IG, could I increase reviews to where Amazon will feature it again?
Contests
2022 Moonbeam Award
2022 Speak Up Talk Radio, Winner of the Firebird Award
2022 Purple Dragonfly
2023 PenCraft Award, seasonal and annual
2023 BookFest Award
2023 Feathered Quill Award
2023 FLA President’s Awards, Gold in Board Books
Tons of new contests available, many allowing “older” books. Are there 2 or 3 big ones that could increase visibility?
Personal contacts
Groups
Churches
Preschools
New grandparents
Could I do a personal mailing? Could I carry cards with details on how to order, so when someone says” I’d like to get that,” I can be ready?

What I might add now
Lists
Many other authors post lists on various topics on their blogs. How can I find who might like to include a board book on dinosaurs? (And it’s CUTE!)
Special sales
I have never tried discount sales. Could I contact the publisher to slash the price for International Dinosaur Day?
Wider media
I know both Amazon and Facebook have ads. Are they useful?
What other media – online or local – could I buy ad space in?
Where online are the groups of people who want this book?
Current events
Many states have official state dinosaurs, plus there are all kinds of dinosaur appreciation days internationally. New finds can mean new opportunities. Is it worth promoting my book on any/all of them?
Back story and author
Authors like to read about other authors and how books are developed, but the author market is more for support than sales. How do I reach the BUYERS?
This is a work in progress. If you have a pandemic-era book, how are you keeping it alive?

Robin Currie is the author of over 45 picture books, and one really CUTE one about a dinosaur. Her new landing page is at Robin Currie | Substack.
